About Roots to Rise…
Roots to Rise, a Souldega event that took place on place on Oct. 29th, 2021, leans heavily on the understanding that we should reach back and gather the best of what our past has to teach us so that we can achieve our full potential as we move forward. Whatever we have lost, forgotten, forgone, or been stripped of, can be reclaimed, revived and preserved.
We called our community to join us in celebrating the connection between all generations as we explore the past, present and future expressions of artistry through music, dance, poetry and healing and to experience and participate in a night of connection through intimate performances DJ Ayana Heaven, Rapha Art Life Sacred Drum Council, dance performance by PiaLoveNow featuring body art by Souldega Sis Ashleigh Alexandria, The Pazant Brothers Orchestra, Poetry by Cyrus, BD3 and our very own Souldega Sis Leen.
There was free catered vegan food by Kayla Phillips. Wine was provided.
