It all started when…

SOULDEGA: When did you first fall in love with singing?

BETTY: I can’t really remember exactly when I realized I wanted to sing. As a child I had a lot of hobbies but singing was the one thing that stuck. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

SOULDEGA: What is your inspiration behind your new single "Queen"?

BETTY: I wanted to make a song that made me feel powerful. Queen is about the foundation of love and the right to be who you are. No one should feel pressured to adapt to their partner’s perception of how you should be. If you compromise on your own ideals and who you are, then how can you be someone for others? A daily reminder that you’re the queen and should be treated as such. Nothing less!

SOULDEGA: When it comes to RnB/Pop Music, Is it easier to sing in your native language, Danish or English?

BETTY: Hmm...My songs come to me in English right now but if it starts coming in danish I guess I would start writing danish lyrics.

SOULDEGA: How has the Pandemic affected your Artistry and in what ways have you adapted to the changes?

BETTY: It’s difficult being an artist right now, and it’s also very difficult being an upcoming artist. I feel like it’s an important time for me right now. A time where I need to put my name out there and build my career up. So yeah it’s definitely been difficult.
Through the pandemic I have been making a lot of new music and I can’t wait for you to hear it.

SOULDEGA: Who are three of your favorite female singers and why?

BETTY: H.E.R, Jhené Aiko and Teyana Taylor. There are so many amazing female artists that blow my mind right now. I’m so inspired by these 3 mostly because of the vocals and the song writing. WOW

SOULDEGA: If you could perform anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

BETTY: I would really love to do a ‘Tiny Desk’ session or ‘A COLORS SHOW’ that would be so cool! I love festivals so I have to put ‘Coachella’ and ‘Essence’ on here. I am born and raised in Denmark so of cause ‘Roskilde Festival’ is in the back of my head.
