SOULDEGA: What started you on your “Globetrotting Energy Capturer”  journey?

TANIA: I was lucky enough to start traveling at a young age. Very early on in my travel experience I noticed that each time I discovered a new place there was always something, even if little, that allowed me to visually connect it to other places. I'd say that my GEC journey 'officialy' started once I started to use my photography as puzzle pieces by trying to connect as many places to one another.

SOULDEGA: Your photo series “City Duo” showcases the similarities you see between cities when traveling to different countries. What do you usually look for when shooting for this series?

TANIA: I usually don't actually "look" for anything specific. I like to get lost in cities and to let their details take my by surprise. This being said, color, architecture and street art are usually the elements that most trigger that 'deja vu' feeling and that take me from one city to another.

SOULDEGA: Can you list the places you’ve traveled to thus far?

TANIA: Starting by the places I now consider home: Rome, Paris, Guadeloupe and Washington DC.

I've also been to:

Casablanca, Marrakesh, Dakar, Johannesburg, Capetown,

Medellin, Salerno, Cartagena,

Oceania: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide

Ubud, Lombok, New Delhi, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Mandawa

New York, Miami, Ohio, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Montreal

Naples, Positano, Florence, Siena, Palermo, Catania, Bologna, Imola, Milano, Lisbonne, Porto, Barcellona, Madrid, Istanbul, Berlin, Montpellier, Marseille, Bordeaux, Grenoble,  Cuba, Martinique, Saint Lucia,

SOULDEGA: If you had to choose, which country/city has been the most visually stimulating and why?

TANIA: I’d be torn between Rome and Cuba... Rome has an amazing color palette. It also has an amazing light about it. Its energy and inspiration are what gave me the courage to plan and materialize Globetrotting Energy Capturer. This being said Cuba was unlike any photographic experience I've had so far. It's also the only city that gave me such a strong feeling of emersion and therefore of comfort when photographing its places and people.

SOULDEGA: Where do you plan to visit and document next?

TANIA: I'd love to go to Brasil, Jordan or Jamaica.

SOULDEGA: Lastly, if you had to bring only one item on your travels, what would it be?

TANIA: Definetly my camera!!!
